Australia - An unbelievable holiday

More than one year has past from when me and Marta have come back from a one month journey in Australia, unforgettable experience in a unique land.

We have planned everything from here, starting with a 10 days visit to my dear uncles in OZ (Melbourne), from there to Adelaide and Kangaroo Island by car (Great Ocean Road) , then by plane to Alice Springs, from there by car (in the red desert) to Ayers Rock.
Then a plane took us to Sudney where we have spent 4 days.

I can say it was the most beautiful journey of my life and still I can't forget this incredible land.

I have finally met the missing part of my family. They have been so lovely and kind that I was feeling at home.
I still remember when we arrived at the airport: it was 6 am and they were all there waiting for us. Zia Adalgisa and Zio Duilio were so affectionate, that considered us like sons.
I remember everything: the big breakfasts, lunches, dinners. The nights at the casino spent with them and the nice stories about their past in Italy and the adventures in their new life.

All my cousins were great and I have to say it was the really first time I have felt the sensation of the "FAMILY" (with capital F). Domenico took us on his brand new boat, and to have a look around in Victoria, Luigi was always available for any of our needs, Bruno gave me a new hairstyle. Mariella, Tina, Louise, Amanda, Belinda, Anthony, Matthew and Julie were very kind and friendly. It was great to meet all my OZ family.
I wait for them here in Italy.
But the thought of going there for a period hasn't left my mind.

The rest of the trip was amazing. The great Ocean Road gave us unique sights on the Ocean (Just a little inconvenient of driving on the right side).
In Kangaroo Island we have seen sea lions lying on the beach at ten meters from us, kangaroos, koalas and an uncontaminated natural scenary.

The Red Center is not a trip but a spiritual experience that leaves a sign.
Looking at the sunrise on the big red rock at 5 am was the most sensational moment of the journey.

Driving in the desert was so funny.....

Sidney and Melbourne are wonderful cities, and you feel you are in a big metropolis, but lifestyle is not as phrenetic as in the big European cities. It's the perfect compromise between a big city and a good way of living. It's a widespread sensation. People saying "hallo mate" when you are walking in the street makes you feel good.

Maybe the secret is that OZ is able to preserve this lifestyle, while Europe renounced to do it. It's very difficult to enter Australia if you want to go there. They don't accept people to go there without a work and if they don't answer to specific requirements.

Europe is getting worse and worse since we are accepting an uncontrolled flux of immigration that decreases our standards of life and doesn't offer a better life to the ones who enter.

I am sure I will go back to OZ (to stay there or for another journey), since I have left there a piece of my heart.
